Gianfranco Rosolia
Crew/French Liaison Gianfranco Rosolia is in his final year studying French and Italian. He is passionate about European culture, with particular interests in avant-garde cinema and 19th century French literature. During his time at Cambridge he has thrown himself into a number of weird and wonderful activities that have seen him perform stand-up comedy in France, travel to Austria as an interpreter for an EU, review concerts and restaurants for ‘TCS’, DJ for college BOPs, and rub shoulders with Sharon Osbourne and Andre 3000.
Besides indulging in hedonism disguised as cultural development, Gianfranco also enjoys ‘getting things done’. As Christ’s College JCR President he spearheaded a successful campaign to extend the college bar opening hours from 8pm to 11pm, enabling Christ’s students to have a late-night mid-week pint for the first time since 1964. He’s also been Director of TCS and has edited the ‘Christ’s Pieces’, his college magazine. Gianfranco has got most enjoyment from his involvement in dramatic activities. In Michaelmas Term he produced the CADS mainshow, ‘Two Chinese Plays: “Autumn in Han Palace” and “The Soul of Chi’en Nu”’, which was a great success and produced the equally fun Christ’s Fresher’s Play, ‘Single Spies’ in his first year.
