Alongside the production, the company are pleased to announce two fantastic speakers to give pre-show talks.
Saturday 29th - Nick Dear
For the final performance, 29th January, the writer Nick Dear will be giving a question and answer session from 6pm in the ADC bar. He will talk about how to become a writer and about his experiences of writing for a variety of different media. Nick Dear is a writer for theatre, film, television and radio. Famed for his wit and use of language as well as skill for writing historical plays, Power was greeted by critical acclaim in its first run. This session will be chaired by Tom Stammers.
Thursday 27th - Professor T.C.W. Blanning
Before the thursday performance, 27th of January, Professor T.C.W. Blanning of the Cambridge University History Faculty and an expert on the reign of Louis the Fourteenth and European history will introduce the show with a talk entitled 'Power in Historical Context'. He is an expert lecturer and sure to deliver a memorable introduction to the performance. He is the author of numerous books, most recently, “The culture of power and the power of culture: old regime Europe 1660-1789”.
